Coming Home

It’s hard to believe summer is winding down, my favorite season of the year. The flowers are in full bloom and we can barely keep up with our sweet tasty tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. August is also the month we usually rent a house large enough for our growing family and have a wonderful vacation somewhere new. But this year the boys kept saying, “Mom, we just want to come home,” home to Terra Granum. So, Mr. C and I conceded and began to plan a week of easy adventures mixed with some downtime and naps.

We spent time in the kitchen cooking, then cleaning-up to music. Mr. C shared wine from the cellar, smoked with the Traeger, and grilled fresh summer veggies from the garden. Canoe & kayak rides, nerf hatchet throwing, badminton, corn hole & basketball, and rides on old wheels for bumps, were just a few of the activities.

Morning smoothies & PJ’s

Bumpy rides around with Uncle Wahinya

Hoops from one generation to the next

Learning to shuck corn for dinner with Uncle Connor

A late afternoon canoe ride

Walks to the garden for more sweet cherry tomatoes was a favorite pass time

It was a perfect way to see some of our best design products from our Shoppe working so well. Who would have thought our pretty French Country Wildflower Basket would be a dinosaur discovery! It was a wonderful week of reading, playing, cooking, and just staying home all together. Enjoying our bountiful blessings one day at a time.

We hope you too find time to celebrate family, a Staycation, a home filled with love!
