Our Non-Profit Hope Markers

It’s not unusual for a company or even a small studio to have an organization that is near and dear to them. A non-profit entrepreneur that’s in need of encouragement and support. And that company for us is HOPE MARKERS. The inspiration for Hope Markers began with an exchange student from the Strahe School for Boys in Nairobi, Kenya, Wahinya Njoya.

Wahinya has been a part of our family since 2007, he has enriched our lives through his example of determination and hard work while sharing his faith, joyful heart and devotion to his friends and family. It wasn’t until our trip to Nairobi 2019, when we walked the streets of the slums that we realized we were not far from where Wahinya was actually from. Our trip was wonderful yet something kept pulling at our hearts, we must find a way to help the children of Kenya, how can we give them Hope, what can we do to help.

It all began with Wahinya, as we saw how one opportunity in our country changed his life forever. But it was really the unexpected trip to Nairobi Kenya 2019 through Fellowship Bible Church where we grew to understand and love the people of Kenya even more. The commonality was this positive personality of smiles for faith, and family just like Wahinya. They are yearning for an opportunity and thirsty to learn, a trade and/or higher education. And when you walk through the slums of Nairobi your heart breaks for the children. The lack of proper housing, the need for nourishment, and desire for better education that is really what inspired HOPE MARKERS.

Along with our friends, the Gallaghers, who were with us in Kenya, Hope Markers began . Our partners in Nairobi run soccer clinics and tournaments where they share the Gospel and plug kids into local churches. Through those activities, they can identify kids of high academic promise who cannot afford high school. From there, Hope Markers is able to pull those students out of the slums and send them to boarding school, which puts them on a path to university or trade school. This is a transformational opportunity. To learn more about this special non-profit visit our website: www.hopemarkers.com.
