Interior Design Trends in 2022

As we settle into the new year of 2022, we are always asked about design trends. Our classical design style with curated modern elements stays pretty timeless but the design trends we do pay attention to are based on lifestyle trends. How can we best serve our clients in the way they live today?

This is what we plan to do this year: we all still love our baskets and wait till you see the many ways Rattan and Wicker's products have been woven in fabulous colors and functionality. We also see our design trend that’s picking up in the actual application of Stone Installations. Areas, where you would typically only see tile considered, are now featuring a beautiful stone. Last but not least is the importance of Multi-Task Rooms. We’ve all experienced what we need to be able to work from home and do it well. We have a few current design projects that we are maximizing every square foot available to do so.

1. Classic Rattan and Wicker

Let us celebrate the artisans from around the world who handcraft our Rattan and Wicker furnishings. In supporting and preserving this craft we have a wide variety of products in this material available in our shop. We love them a lot!

You can find these gems of seagrass and leather at Pottery Barn, we especially love design details.

Sarah Bartholomew’s Garden Collection for Mainly Baskets is so wonderfully creative it was hard to select just one favorite piece of Rattan & Wicker.

2. Stone Installations

Over the recent years, I have enjoyed seeing interior designers and architects running stone horizontally and vertically. It brings an organic continuity to the space that can be breathtaking at times. It’s nice to change up a backsplash or fireplace surround where you would typically see tile. It takes a little courage for a few of our clients, but in the end, they love it! Here are a few of our favorites to see and enjoy.

3. MUlti-Task Rooms

After the last two years, we’ve all learned a lot about maximizing the functionality of rooms to fit our needs. We’re currently re-designing a laundry room that needs to function as a craft room, as well as doors that lead to a small wine cellar. We cannot wait to share the results with all of you! Just one of the ways we’re creating multiple ways a room can function for you. Here is a Laundry Room we completed with a built-in desk with the option for a dog area.

These lifestyle trends are all about authentic fulfillment for your home. Enjoying your beautiful interiors for work and pleasure with family and friends is what we love to create. Our client’s lifestyle continues to inspire our creativity in design!
